DEARBORN, Mich. — On the early morning on Monday March 12, 2012 Dearborn police officers observed three subjects walking in the area of Tireman and Bingham Streets and established surveillance on their activity.
A canine was called after officers lost sight of the subjects in the area of Reuter and Morross Streets. The canine tracked the subjects to a home under renovation on Hartwell Street. Inside the home officers located and arrested three Detroit men who were in the process of removing the copper plumbing.
Chief Haddad states: “The Dearborn Police will continue to patrol neighborhoods in marked as well as unmarked police vehicles to maintain our presence and discourage those who would negatively impact the quality of life our residents have come to expect.”
On Tuesday March 13, 2012 Derek Carter (22yrs), Devonte Curry (18yrs), and James Hannum (18yrs) were each arraigned on one court of Breaking & Entering-A Building with Intent to commit the crime of larceny, a felony with a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Friday March 23, 2012 at the 19th District Court.
