DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Dearborn Heights Montessori Center (DHMC) is now accepting applications for its summer camp program. DHMC offers nine weeks of educational and culturally-rich programs beginning June 20 through August 19, 2011, on its campus located at 466 N. John Daly in Dearborn Heights.
Half and full day programs are available for toddler, preschool/kindergarten and elementary children. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with hours available before and after camp for families needing extra hours. The building opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. The program is open to the public and available to all children between the ages of 18 months and twelve years old.
Each week campers participate in a different and exciting science or geography theme with lots of indoor and outdoor activities. Weekly programs also include math and language, physical education, art and technology.
Summer campers enjoy a water day each week, in-house presentations and off-site field trips for children in elementary grades. The summer camp programs are led by highly qualified, Montessori-certified DHMC teachers.
“Our summer program is designed to nurture the love of learning in a safe, fun environment,” said Heidi Gauger, summer program director. “Our campers enjoy making new friends and creating lifelong memories.”
Although parents are encouraged to enroll children in the full summer camp program, DHMC accepts part-summer enrollments to accommodate families’ work and vacation schedules. Early enrollment is recommended to ensure availability.
Summer camp activities, weekly themes and registration form for the 2011 DHMC Summer Camp program are available on the DHMC website at www.dhmontessori.org. For additional details or to schedule a visit, call 313-359-3000.
