DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – As parents, there can be struggles with bedtime, mealtime and getting children to cooperate. To help parents with these topics, Dearborn Heights Montessori Center (DHMC) invites you to attend an informative and entertaining workshop beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011. The workshop will be held at the school which is located at 466 North John Daly in Dearborn Heights.
P. Donahue Shortridge
P. Donahue Shortridge, a parent educator and teacher trainer, will present “Tackling the Big Three: Bedtime, Mealtime & Getting My Child to Cooperate” with an opportunity for lively and informative discussion.
Shortridge writes and speaks nationally about families in the American culture. A visiting instructor of philosophy at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado, she also teaches parenting classes and offers parent and family coaching services.
Topics to be covered with helpful tips for parents include:
- Issues around sleep and bedtime: How not to go crazy
- Mealtime and nutrition: Can it be pleasant?
- How to get the cooperation of your child: Must I nag?

DHMC will also host its next open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, for parents interested in learning more about a Montessori education and the school’s comprehensive programs. Tours can be easily arranged by appointment at any time during the year.
