DEARBORN, MICHIGAN – “When you find an insurance agent like Renata Crooms, you know you’ve found a person you’d want as a friend,” said Dearborn resident Carla O’Neill, a client of the AAA Michigan agent. “She’s been our agent for at least 10 years and always goes out of her way to help. I referred her to a friend who was very ill, and Renata took care of all the paperwork for her. I know Renata understands, because she’s a cancer survivor herself.”
Community invited to ribbon cutting celebration, and open house on Wednesday, May 13
O’Neill’s heartwarming testimonial is one of several for Crooms, who is hosting a grand opening celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. The event is being held in partnership with the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce at Crooms’ new AAA Michigan office at 23506 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights.
In addition to celebrating Crooms’ new central location to service her clients in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, 2015 marks her 30th anniversary with AAA Michigan and 20th anniversary as an insurance agent.
“During my first 10 years with AAA, I worked in the call center. I feel it was that experience that led to my success as an agent,” said Crooms.
Don Nicholson, an automotive event planner and creator of the annual Cruisin’ Hines classic car cruise, is another longtime client of Crooms.
“Renata’s like my memory bank. She reminds me when my bills are due and always follows up,” said Nicholson, who insures his home, autos and motor scooter through AAA Michigan. “She’s not looking for a profit; she’s looking out for the customer.”
Dearborn City Councilman David Bazzy, president and COO of Kenwal Steel, echoed similar feelings. He said, “Renata has been a tremendous asset in helping tailor my auto and homeowners’ policies. Even when I had three teenage boys growing up, we were able to keep them insured and keep me from going broke.”
“This Grand Opening celebration is truly a high point for me,” said Crooms, who welcomes the community to stop in, enjoy some light refreshments, enter a special prize drawing, and visit with familiar faces. “I’ve always worked in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights. It’s like home for me.”
