DEARBORN, Michigan – “Nature sometimes shouts, sometimes it whispers.” says artist David A. Bell, whose solo exhibition, “Meditation On Nature” opens this week at the Padzieski Art Gallery located in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, MI 48126. Bell is a naturalist working primarily in watercolor but with a depth and grandeur that belies the medium.

As a boy David A. Bell played in the streets and neighborhoods of Dearborn, where he also began to develop his interest in art at Henry Ford College. For almost 20 years he’s been living among the raw beauty of the wilds of Northern Michigan drawing inspiration from Lake Huron’s timeless beauty and the woodland environments exclusive to our State.

Coming back to Dearborn has given the artist a chance to share his strong impressions and expressions of nature with the people and places representing the roots of his artistic vision. Bell’s love of painting shows in the studies and the glimpses of nature both intimate and grand that he presents in these large works of art that draw the viewer into his world – a world that he feels the need to share more and more through his paintings as he battles increasing difficulties with his vision.

The free Opening Reception for “Meditation On Nature” is Thursday, October 2 from 6pm to 8pm with light refreshments and a chance to meet the reclusive artist. The Padzieski Art Gallery also presents a free “Teatime with the Artist” on Wednesday, November 5 from 2-3pm.The exhibition closes Friday, November 7.
