DEARBORN, Michigan – Dearborn area seniors, aged 50 and over, are invited to attend this year’s free Autumn Elderfest, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 5 at Ford Field Park in Dearborn. Hosted by the Senior Services Division of the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department, Autumn Elderfest features a variety of activities for area senior citizens.
This year’s festival will get underway with a breakfast at 10 a.m., sponsored by Henry Ford Village.
Bingo, sponsored by Howe-Peterson and assisted by Outer Drive Kiwanis, will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., popcorn, courtesy of Heartland of Dearborn Heights/Allen Park, and bottled water, provided by Judge Mark Somers, will be available.
The Fun Walk with Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr., starts at 11:30 a.m. It’s preceded by Warm Up Exercises with Dominique, sponsored by the DMC, at 11:15 a.m.
Bocce ball, sponsored by Hearing Center of Michigan, and other games, sponsored by Hospice of Michigan, get under way as well at 11:30 a.m.
The Mike Wolverton Band, sponsored by Tony Guerriero, will provide musical entertainment, beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Lunch will be served at noon and features hot dogs, sponsored by Exchange Club of Dearborn and soft drinks, sponsored by Assurant Care LLC.
Lunch will be topped off with ice cream, sponsored by Wayne County Commissioner Gary Woronchak, at 12:30 p.m.
Elderfest will wrap up after lunch with the Anniversary Waltz, sponsored by City Councilman Mike Sareini and The Dearborn Inn, at 1 p.m., followed by a raffle, sponsored by State Rep. George T. Darany, at 2:15 p.m.
