DEARBORN, Michigan – The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC) has been selected to host the 2015 Statewide Chamber Convention in partnership with the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals (MACP). Each year through a bidding process, local chambers across the state apply to host the convention.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights communities to 300 chamber executives and representatives from around the state. We will start to plan now so that we can coordinate an experience for conference attendees that are second to none,” said Jennifer Giering, president of the DACC.
In 1990 the organization began hosting the annual Chamber Convention in various places around Michigan, offering local Chamber Ambassadors an opportunity to come together to share their best practices and network with their peers. Year 2015 marks the second time in the twenty-five year conference history, that the Ambassador and Chamber conventions will be held consecutively. One large, impactful event will shine a valuable spotlight on the city of Dearborn.
The Chamber Convention will feature speakers on topics including leadership, membership and business development and marketing. It is also one of the only statewide events that recognizes the great effort and contribution of those who sacrifice their free time aiding in the ongoing success and stability of the states chambers of commerce. The DACC anticipates that the event will bring as many as 300 new faces and business professionals to the Dearborn Area offering an opportunity to network and showcase the areas local businesses, talent, and leaders.
“We’re looking forward to hosting the 2015 Chamber Convention in Dearborn and taking advantage of its economic and culturally diverse attractions. It will be a great backdrop for chambers to visit from across the state,” said Bob Thomas, president of the MACP.
The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce provides 600+ members with the opportunities and resources to engage and network with other businesses, enhancing financial growth, professional development, and the ability to contribute to a thriving community environment.
Through strategic partnerships and volunteer assistance, the MACP aims to build excellence in Michigan Chambers of Commerce, serving as their industry resource.
