DEARBORN, Michigan – Vanguard Voices, directed by G. Kevin Dewey, and Dearborn Community Chorus, directed by Marcus LaPratt, will celebrate the season at the Dearborn Holiday Choral Festival on Saturday, December 14, at 7 p.m. in the world-class Michael A. Guido Theater at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn.
The combined choirs, joined by the Dearborn Symphony Chamber Orchestra, will perform the music from Steven Errante’s “The Boar’s Head Festival.”
This concert presentation will feature all of the solos, choruses, and audience-participation carols from the familiar pageant produced by Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church.
Dearborn Community Chorus will perform seasonal selections including “Sweet Was the Song” (Robert H. Young), “Breath of Heaven” (Amy Grant), and “Run to the Manger” (Kirby Shaw). Vanguard Voices will present “Hodie Christus Natus Est” (G.P. da Palestrina), “A Hymn to the Virgin” (Benjamin Britten), and “Three Kings” (Healey Willan).
Vanguard Male Chorus will sing carols in the lobby from 6:15-6:45 p.m.
Audience members are also invited to a punch and cookies reception immediately following the concert.
