DEARBORN, Michigan – A proud alumnus of Dearborn Public Schools and Michigan State University, Brian Mosallam embarked on journey to improve the community of Dearborn the day after graduating from Fordson High School.
Always focused on representing Dearborn in a professional and positive way Brian remained focused on being a successful student and a remarkable athlete. Brian was co-captain and District IV academic all American for the MSU Spartans. Several years later, he understood how to turn that energy into being a successful and active community leader. A leader in one of the most important arenas of life – EDUCATION.
Over seven years ago Brian took the role as Chairman of the Dearborn Public Schools Education Foundation (DPSEF). He strategically helped to grow the organization year after year and to date DPSEF has given back to Dearborn teachers over $1,400,000.
Brian described what he does in this way, “the most important work I see myself doing for our community is to improve the future of our youth by being a positive role model and by promoting and supporting their educational future.”
He put action to word and well over a year ago, Brian Mosallam embarked on a journey to position himself as a candidate for MSU Trustee. Never one to give up and investing all the resources he had, he got his name on the November 6th ballot.
Being the highest vote getter in the history of Dearborn (receiving over 1,900,000 votes State-wide) Brian went on to say, “I’m honored and humbled to be elected by the people of the great state of Michigan. I thank everyone for their outpouring of support especially Spartan nation. I take pride in the fact that I am a son of Dearborn and I hope to represent us well in E. Lansing. This has always been a dream of mine and this is proof that dreams can indeed come true. ”
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we extend our congratulations to Brian on such a wonderful accomplishment. We are confident that he will continue to do great things for MSU and for all of Dearborn as well”, stated Eddie Fakhoury, Executive Director – DPSEF.
