LIVONIA, Michigan – According to the Federal Trade Commission, personal identity theft remains the top complaint. Breaches of secure information have occurred in nearly every sector of the business community as well as in education, healthcare, banking and even the government, impacting millions of people each year.
During National Protect Your Identity Week in October, Co-op Services Credit Union is partnering with Accel, a program of GreenPath Debt Solutions, to help raise awareness about identity theft and educate consumers in the Detroitmetro area. This includes hosting a free workshop for the public titled “Deter, Detect, Defend, Avoid ID Theft.”
The informative workshop will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Livonia Library, located at32777 Five Mile Road in Livonia. Reservations are recommended by calling 800-321-8570, extension 140. Refreshments and valuable information will be provided.
