DEARBORN, Mich. – The Dearborn Public Library is proud to announce the winners in its annual bookmark contest.
The five winners are Rachel Ruesch, Snow Elementary School; Jana Elakkawi, Haigh Elementary School; Samantha Smalley, Howard Elementary School; Addie Ruesch, Snow Elementary School and Tarek Hazany, Henry Ford Elementary School. These students were chosen from about 200 entries submitted from Dearborn area schools.
The Annual Bookmark Contest is held each year during March is Reading Month. Any student living in the city of Dearborn or enrolled in a Dearborn area school is eligible to enter.
Winners from each grade, first through fifth, are chosen by independent judges. Winning bookmarks are paired with recommended reads for each grade and professionally printed.
Contest winners receive a set of their bookmarks to distribute to friends and family. Also, the winning bookmarks are available in all of the Dearborn Public Libraries.
