DEARBORN, Michigan – Artists from the Bellini Opera Theatre will present The Golden Age of Opera in the Henry Ford Centennial Library Auditorium at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17.
This free, one-hour presentation sponsored by the Friends of the Library-Dearborn (FOLD) is the first in a series of performances covering more than 300 years of opera.
Featured this month are performances by Eva Evola, soprano, and Dino Valle, baritone. The pianists are Martie Mandelbaum and Neil Eisenstein.
In addition to the May concert, the series The Golden Age of Opera will continue with performances on June 21 and July 19.
The Bellini Opera was founded by opera enthusiast Roslino Lo Duca, a native of Cinisi in the province of Palermo, out of his deep love for the Sicilian customs and language and his passion for the music of Vincenzo Bellini.
Co-founder Valle hopes to foster the enjoyment of operatic music for today’s audience through a series of concerts, recitals, lectures and other outreach programs in Michigan and Florida.
The Henry Ford Centennial Library is at 16301 Michigan Avenue. For more information, call 313.943.2330.
