DEARBORN, Mich. – Mohamad I. Chehab has been appointed to Dearborn’s Civil Service Commission.
Under the Dearborn City Charter, the four current commissioners appoint a fifth commissioner. That has now taken place with Chehab’s appointment.
The voluntary board generally sets the policies for hiring, promoting and terminating certain City of Dearborn employees. The commissioners serve a four-year term without compensation.
For close to 20 years, Chehab has worked in the customer service airline industry, including his present position as manager/performance leader with Delta Air Lines.
His areas of expertise include staffing, scheduling, training, managing employees and budgets, and ensuring governmental and corporate standards are met.
Chehab earned his Bachelor in General Studies from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, Rackham School of Graduate Studies affiliated program.
A Dearborn resident for 41 years, Chehab and his wife, Dima, have three children.
Civil Service Commission meetings are open to the public and are typically the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. at City Hall.
