DEARBORN, Michigan – The Dearborn Historical Museum will present a free public lecture and showing of a documentary film on historic churches in Detroit at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
The event takes place at the McFadden-Ross House, 915 Brady Street in Dearborn.
From the beginning when French explorer Cadillac landed on the banks of the Detroit River in 1701, the City of Detroit began its legacy of building church structures where immigrants could practice their religion.
This program shares the personal stories of how these churches were built and how they have been moved to accommodate the ever-changing landscape of downtown Detroit.
Producer Lynda Charow will give background on her 42-minute production, called “Building on Faith: The Historic Churches of Detroit.”
DVD copies will be available for purchase for $20.
