DEARBORN, Michigan – Henry Ford Health System is opening its newest facility — Henry Ford Medical Center – Ford Road. The health system is investing more than $11 million in the new facility and the nearby Henry Ford Medical Center – Fairlane.
Henry Ford is leasing 66,000 square feet in a 140,000 square-foot-facility at 5500 Auto Club Drive at the corner of Auto Club Drive and Ford Road to house the new facility.
A few of the new Henry Ford Health Systems services:
- OptimEyes/Opthalmology (SuperVision Center) opened Aug. 1 and offers new services in pediatric eye care.
- Women’s Health Services, Dermatology, Laboratory/Radiology Services and Pharmacy (opened Nov. 15)
- Pediatrics, After-Hours Urgent Care, and Ford Road Rehabilitation and Athletic Medicine (opening Nov. 21)
With some services moving from Fairlane, departments remaining at 19401 Hubbard Drive will be able to expand within the building, which is also receiving improvements and updates to better serve patients.
“It’s been exciting watching this new facility take shape,” said Cecelia Fydroski, administrator for both the Fairlane and Ford Road medical centers. “We’re looking forward to having our patients see it and are beginning to serve them there.
“This expansion is a long-term commitment to our patients and the Dearborn community,” Fydroski said, noting that the health system has signed a 10-year lease on the new building.
Long-term plans under consideration include leasing the remaining space to complementary private practice physicians.
