LANSING, Michigan – State Representative George T. Darany recently applauded the Ford Motor Company for earning the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. This award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for providing exceptional support of their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
“Dearborn is home to the world headquarters of the Ford Motor Company and they employee many of our friends and neighbors,” Darany said. “I am so pleased to see that their commitment to our servicemen and women was recognized and I thank them for their continued support of our Guard and Reserve members and their families.”
Today Representative Darany co-sponsored House Resolution 131, which was unanimously adopted by the Michigan House of Representatives, recognizing Ford Motor Company for receiving the award. Ford is one of 15 companies nationwide that was selected in June to earn this distinguished recognition. Ford not only provides outstanding service to the more than 700 military personal and 7,000 veterans they employ, but they also participate in initiatives and activities that reflect their dedication to service members.
Darany added, “On behalf of the Michigan House of Representatives it is an honor and privilege to recognize Ford for establishing strong support for those who selflessly chose to serve our country.”
