DEARBORN, Michigan – Oakwood Common has launched a new website at www.OakwoodCommon.org to feature the retirement community’s wide variety of lifestyle options and special amenities for active seniors and others who need more personalized care.
The new website showcases video and written testimonials of current residents, a photo gallery of special events and unique amenities as well as the opportunity to sign up for a monthly e-newsletter.
“A lot of people know about our rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities because of our affiliation with Oakwood Hospital,” said Elizabeth Goch, division president of post acute care for Oakwood Healthcare. “However, fewer are aware of the beautiful apartments, common areas and social activities on our campus that cater to the desires of active seniors.”
A common theme that is woven throughout the Oakwood Common website is the intimacy of the campus, and friendliness of the residents and staff. Located on 29 acres of nature trails, walking paths and scenic views adjacent to the Rouge River Gateway in Dearborn, the community includes one and two bedroom apartments—each with a private balcony or patio. Residents also have access to their own private gardens and underground parking.
Oakwood Common is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), one of only a few in metro Detroit, which provides senior living options including independent living, assisted living and comprehensive rehabilitation and skilled nursing center–all on one campus.
Launch of the new website coincides with the upcoming completion of a major renovation project to be unveiled in June. Known as the “Bistro” project, Oakwood Common residents will have access to a bistro café that includes new energy efficient equipment and a pizza oven to provide a more diverse menu. They will also have access to a comfortable lounge with bar and fireplace to socialize with friends and family, along with a new fitness room for more exercise options and an area to access Internet communications.
“Senior lifestyles have changed dramatically during the past several years, and our goal is to be responsive to residents’ lifestyles,” said Goch.
The new website also includes the ability for online visitors to download and print information about various apartment options as well as available services and amenities, and to request information for family and friends.
“We hope that our online visitors will receive a sense of what sets us apart from other retirement communities, though our ultimate goal is to have you schedule a visit and tour of our gorgeous campus,” added Goch.
Directions to Oakwood Common, located at 16351 Rotunda in Dearborn, and a campus layout are also available on the Oakwood Common website. For more information and to arrange tours, call 800-642-4663 or visit www.OakwoodCommon.org.
