DEARBORN, Mich. – Parkmobile announced a new service that will allow residents and visitors in Dearborn to save time and money by using their mobile phone to pay for parking at meters in the west downtown district.
Phase one of the program will begin in metered Lot H, located at West Village Drive between Mason and Monroe, south of Michigan Avenue.
To use the new Parkmobile system, customers register for free at www.parkmobile.com. Once registered, motorists can use a mobile app, the internet, or a toll free phone call, 800-280-4146 or 1-800-280-4146 to pay for parking. After setting up the account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Motorists can also select the option to receive text message alerts and reminders fifteen minutes before their time expires.
“We’re pleased to offer this innovation to be make it even more convenient for people to visit the stores, night spots and restaurants in our west downtown,” said Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. “We want to deliver services for the way people live their lives now, and phone applications are a big part of that.”

Parking in Lot H is 50 cents an hour. There is a small l transaction fee of .35 cents for using the convenience of the pay by phone system, or customers can choose to pay a flat rate of $3 (transaction fee is included) to park from 5 p.m. to closing.
