DEARBORN, MI – The Demorest Law Firm, PLLC is very pleased to announce that Melissa L. Demorest has been elected to the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors for 2011. Ms. Demorest is an associate at the firm, which has offices located in Birmingham and Dearborn, MI.
Melissa Demorest graduated cum laude in 2005 from Wayne State University Law School, where she was the Assistant Editor and Senior Articles Editor of The Wayne Law Review. She completed her internship with the Honorable Nancy G. Edmunds, U.S. District Court Judge of the Eastern District of Michigan, and completed her B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Economics with a minor in French and Francophone Studies. Ms. Demorest joined Demorest Law Firm, PLLC in 2005, specializing in business law, employment law, real estate law and appellate practice.
In addition to her involvement with the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Demorest also volunteers on several committees for the YWCA of Western Wayne County and served as Chairperson of Western Wayne County’s YWCA in 2009. She was awarded the Young Professional of the Year Award by the YWCA in 2009 and was named YWCA’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year for Western Wayne County.
The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce has over 600 member businesses. The Chamber’s goal is to promote the best interests of its members by helping them connect with prospective customers, promote products and services, succeed in business through increasing sales and saving money, and to become a leader in the Dearborn community.
