DEARBORN, MI – Ford Motor Company President and CEO Alan Mulally will be the keynote speaker at the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce’s Business Builders Breakfast, Tuesday, March 2, 7:30 am at the Dearborn Inn.
“We are thrilled to host Alan Mulally and showcase the accomplishments of Ford Motor Co. under his
leadership, especially as it relates to Dearborn,” said Chamber President Jennifer Knott Giering. “We are
honored that he has chosen this event to showcase the successes of this valuable institution to our members and the community.”
Mulally came to Ford Motor Co. after a successful tenure at The Boeing Company and Boeing
Commercial Airplanes as president and chief executive officer. He is credited with the ONE Ford restructuring plan that led to the company’s first profitable quarter in two years. His ONE Ford concept—one team, one
plan, one goal, one Ford—remains the auto leader’s priority going forward. As the only “Big Three”
member not to take a government bailout, Ford is poised to emerge as the largest US automaker.
“In spite of the headwinds we still face, we are more excited than ever about the incredible “new Ford”
we are creating,” said Mulally. “The world continues to understand the phenomenal transformation that
this great American icon is undergoing. I believe they will come to share the excitement the Ford team
feels every day as we work together to create a dynamic global and profitable enterprise.”
The Chamber’s newly named Business Builders Breakfast (formerly Economic Outlook Breakfast) in
March is one of four planned for the year. The March 2nd event is sponsored by Ford Land. Individual
tickets are available ($30 for Chamber members; $35 for non-members) as well as corporate tables
($400) by registering on-line at www.dearbornchamber.org.
The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce works to promote the best interests of nearly 600 member
businesses by helping them connect with prospective customers, promote products and services,
succeed in business through increasing sales and saving money, and to be a leader in the Dearborn community.
