A free seminar on how to find a job in Detroit’s tough job market and how to keep it will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12. The seminar will take place at the University of Michigan Fairlane Training Center North, 19000 Hubbard Drive, #110 in Dearborn. The seminar is designed for people who are unemployed, who may become unemployed, or who want to make the best first impression in a new job.
Three presenters will share specific strategies and action plans at the seminar.
Robert Altizer of Raymond James and Associates will discuss specific financial topics, including rolling over a 401K, and what to do when you lose a job as well as your insurance.
Kelli Ruiz, of Kelly Services, Inc., will discuss how to create a powerful resume, how to research one’s way into a great interview, and interviewing dos and don’ts.
Donna Kutylowski, Ski Squared Communications, will teach on-the-job exceptional skills that can help keep one employed and support one’s employer in business.
Attendees will learn how to effectively leverage a 401K rollover, and how to manage their money when not working. Creating great resumes and how to research one’s way into a great interview will also be covered.
The seminar will also focus on successful interview techniques, as well as how to demonstrate exceptional skills as a new employee. Shortening the transition time from new employee to team member will also be covered, as will the topic of identifying exceptional traits in employers.
